We’re hiring our first Integrations Engineer—a trailblazer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, AI, and customer experience.

This is a high-impact, hybrid role for someone who’s as comfortable writing clean, scalable code as they are mapping complex workflows and reimagining how humans and systems interact post-sale. You'll be a key player in redefining our approach to post-sales operations—combining automation, intelligent systems, and a customer-first mindset to drive both delightful experiences and operational efficiency.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of designing and implementing AI-powered systems and smart integrations that streamline how we support and engage with our customers. From automating repetitive workflows to connecting our internal tools and customer-facing platforms, your work will directly influence how we scale with excellence.

Think of this as part automation architect, part AI strategist, and part integration engineer—with the freedom to challenge assumptions, build from first principles, and shape the future of customer experience through technology.

You will contribute by

Reimagine Post-Sales with AI

  • Architect a scalable and intelligent customer success motion that blends automation with human touchpoints.
  • Design proactive AI-powered engagement systems—e.g., automated follow-ups for failed jobs that escalate seamlessly to the right human when needed.
  • Improve retention, resolution speed, and customer satisfaction with smart, context-aware interactions.

Make the Team Smarter and Faster

  • Build AI-driven enhancements into platforms like Intercom, Gong, Catalyst, and Salesforce.
  • Identify repetitive tasks across Customer Success, Support, Onboarding, and Sales Engineering—and eliminate them through automation.
  • Lead the design of systems that allow us to scale impact without scaling headcount.

Engineer Seamless CX Systems

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between customer-facing systems (e.g., Stripe, Salesforce, Intercom) and internal tools.
  • Build event-driven workflows, webhooks, and automation scripts that streamline CX and GTM operations.
  • Use data (SQL, pipelines, dashboards) to drive continuous improvement and measure the impact of automations.
  • Develop and integrate AI/LLM models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama) into workflows for smarter engagement and decision-making.

Your background includes

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Systems, Integration Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience using basic scripting or programming skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar) to create customer automations and enhance AI integrations.
  • 3+ years of experience automating repetitive tasks by writing scripts or leveraging low-code/no-code automation platforms like Zapier, while knowing when custom development is needed for more complex integrations.
  • 1+ year of experience building out AI-powered automation in Customer Success, Sales, or Support functions.
  •  Expertise in workflow automation tools (Zapier, Workato, AI-driven CRM integrations).
  •  Experience optimizing Intercom, Catalyst, Gong, Salesforce, or similar customer engagement platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and passion for leveraging AI to improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.

Hybrid roles at Hover

Hover has Hubs in San Francisco and New York City, where we expect that all employees living within a 50-mile radius of our offices will come into their local Hover office at least three times a week to build rapport and foster organic connection. At this time, Hover is not considering fully remote roles.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is  $160,000 - $182,000 annually. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all applicable US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
