This role sits at the heart of achieving HOVER’s product strategy; in close partnership with leadership, internal teams, and engineering, you will own the Foundation Team roadmap and help us achieve our vision.

Who you serve:

At HOVER, what distinguishes Technical Product Managers from Product Managers is that they serve internal customers like our Product, Engineering, and Design teams, Data, Support, and Billing teams. 

WHO YOU ARE

You are collaborative

Every successful Technical Product Manager (TPM) needs to be able to work well within cross-functional teams. Especially critical for this role will be the ability to build and maintain successful relationships across not only engineering, data, and design, but also departments such as Finance and Operations. The products you build will serve as the foundation for HOVER’s future success.

You are hands-on

Everyone from our Founder/CEO down is a doer, and this role is no exception. You love doing the less glamorous work of a TPM (digging into data, writing PRDs and stories, and planning sprints).

You are technical

Being able to dive into the weeds with engineers is essential, and the product lines you will manage will be highly technical in nature. Examples include improving our data model, working with APIs and SDKs, and billing systems.

You are decisive about prioritization

There are only so many hours in a day. You always know where the highest ROI is and what the most important projects or tasks are.

You value simplicity

You don’t mistake complexity for sophistication. You see flexibility and ease of operation as signals of quality.   

Your background includes:

  • 7+ years defining, building, and shipping high-quality software for technically-oriented customers.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with subscription and transactional billing practices, accounting practices, SaaS integrations, RESTful APIs, and SDKs
  • Familiarity with maintaining CCPA and GDPR compliance
  • Experience leading multiple initiatives in parallel
  • Experience managing multiple competing priorities and stakeholders with competing perspectives.
  • Experience building tools for internal customers and external customers
  • Experience making buy vs build decisions; and in the case of buy - experience managing third party vendors.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across multiple cross-functional constituencies
  • Exceptional communication, both verbal and written. You are equally comfortable presenting to internal teams and external customers and partners. You can translate a very technical context to a non-technical audience.
