Why Hover wants you

We're looking for a proactive Senior IT Administrator to own the administration and improvement of our employee-facing IT systems for our 300+ distributed employees. You’ll also be the first point of contact for support requests in a Mac-first, cloud-native environment that includes Okta, Jamf, Jira, Google Workspace, and Slack. This role is onsite in our NYC office and collaborates across teams to optimize infrastructure, security, and employee experience

You will contribute by

  • Serving as the first line of support for IT requests via Jira, Slack, and in-person
  • Managing access, devices, and accounts using tools like Jamf, Okta, and Google Workspace
  • Monitoring and improving our NYC office network and AV systems (Cisco Meraki)
  • Building smarter workflows with Jira Service Management, automation tools, and AI
  • Optimizing customer satisfaction and system performance
  • Helping ensure SOC 2 compliance and secure offboarding processes
  • Contributing to long-term improvements through system optimization and team collaboration

Your background includes

  • 3+ years in IT support in fast-paced, startup environments (200+ users)
  • Deep macOS expertise with some Windows experience
  • Proficiency in configuring Jamf, Okta, Intune, and other IT security tools
  • Jira Service Management admin skills and a mindset for continuous improvement
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with SOC 2 compliance and agile or ITSM frameworks

Nice to have

  • Apple Certified Support Professional certification or equivalent
  • Expertise in Okta Workflows and Okta expression language
  • Managing Jira Service Projects for Cloud certification
  • Experience in setting, measuring, and improving service level agreements and customer satisfaction
  • Advanced scripting language experience (bash, SQL, Python, Powershell, etc.)
  • Endpoint vulnerability detection and remediation experience

Hybrid roles at Hover

Hover has Hubs in San Francisco and New York City, where we expect that all employees living within a 50-mile radius of our offices will come into their local Hover office at least three times a week to build rapport and foster organic connection. At this time, Hover is not considering fully remote roles. This role will be located in our New York City Hub. 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $127,000 - $145,000 annually. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all applicable US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
