How Hover and Verisk are transforming insurance claims with 3D interior inspections
In our recent webinar, Jason Love of Verisk and Spencer Warden of Hover shared how claims professionals can leverage technology to streamline processes, reduce errors, and improve accuracy at scale. In the fast-paced world of insurance claims, efficiency and accuracy aren’t just nice-to-haves—they’re essential. Traditional workflows often depend on manual sketches, physical site visits, and time-consuming measurements that can delay claim resolution and introduce costly errors. As longtime partners, Hover and Verisk are developing solutions to help adjusters excel in their jobs. Watch on demand below.
Tackling traditional challenges with technology
Jason Love opened the session by highlighting the pain points insurers and adjusters face daily: slow, error-prone manual sketches and measurements that delay claims and frustrate customers. “Just 11% of interior-related claims are currently using an automated sketch solution like Hover,” said Jason Love of Verisk. That means nearly 9 out of 10 claims still rely on time-consuming manual methods—a massive untapped opportunity to reduce errors, accelerate timelines, and improve customer satisfaction.
Hover’s solution? A mobile 3D capture platform that allows anyone involved in the claims process—from contractors to homeowners—to scan properties quickly and accurately, generating detailed 3D models with tagged photos of specific damages.
Seamless integration with Verisk’s Xactimate
Spencer Warden emphasized how Hover’s data seamlessly integrates into Xactimate, the industry’s leading estimating platform. This integration reduces manual data entry and accelerates estimate creation. Recent API updates bring even richer interior data—including ceilings, staircases, and Virtual Walkthroughs—right into adjusters’ workflows. This means fewer physical site visits, faster claim approvals, and improved communication among stakeholders.
A glimpse into the future of claims processing
The webinar also offered exciting insights into the future: guided estimates powered by carrier rules and questionnaires, and eventually, fully automated claims where photo inspection data auto-populates line items in estimates. This collaboration between Hover and Verisk promises to not only enhance accuracy and speed but also drive innovation that keeps pace with evolving industry needs.
